Embracing the Green
With St. Patrick’s Day coming up this weekend we thought we would give you a solid dose of green. Green as a decorating palette and green as an initiative. While we are on the subject of initiatives we want to take a moment to tell you a little about how Oskar Huber contributes to the preservation of our environment.
Oskar Huber cares deeply about protecting our environment. We align with craftsmen and companies that are members of organizations dedicated to earth-friendly practices. These organizations include the Forest Stewardship Council, Sustainable Forestry Initiative, and the Sustainable Furnishings Council. As such, our stores can offer you ‘green’ products like soy-based, flame retardant-free cushions; recycled fiber filling for pillows; furniture with recycled metal components and very low VOC finishes. We further reduce our showrooms’ carbon footprint by using energy-saving LED lighting as well as carpeting and countertops made from recycled and renewable materials. We also recycle the cardboard your order is shipped inside of.
Around the Showroom
We have some exciting ways to add green to your design palette and brighten up your space just in time for Spring…
Pillows are an excellent way to brighten up a room. Add them to your neutral tone sofa or chair and watch the dynamic of the room change right before your eyes! You can also change the feel of the room seasonally by changing the pillows.
And just like pillows, accessories are a great way to add some green to your room palette. Versatility is the word when discussing vases. Try them with your favorite flowers or empty – Both options look great! Vases really work in groupings as well. Place a few different sizes together to add interest to your bookshelf, counter or coffee table.
Finally, don’t be afraid to go big and bold with the color. Bringing an accent chair into your living space will liven it up and give it a fresh new look! Again, pairing these bright bold colors as an accent to neutral tones in a room is an excellent way to get ready for the Spring season. Stop in and see for yourself – we’re pretty sure you’ll be inspired!
