Warehouse and Delivery Associate
Oskar Huber is currently seeking a motivated and reliable candidate to fill the role of the Warehouse and Delivery Associate for our Ship Bottom, NJ location. This is a full-time position that offers benefits that include medical, dental, paid time off, paid holidays, 401K, and personal discounts on furniture and accessories.
Weekly hours are Tuesdays – Saturdays, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Job Summary:
Warehouse and Delivery Associates will ensure the efficient operation of receiving and storage of inventory, unpacking and assembly, merchandise deliveries to our customers’ homes, and placement of new products on the showroom floor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load and unload merchandise with care while providing quality control by inspecting merchandise for any damage or missing items
- Support a safe working environment, by ensuring the warehouse and showroom are maintained in accordance with company standards
- Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations
- Process, package, and ship orders accurately
- Organize stock, warehouse space, and maintain inventory
- Inspect products for defects and damage
- Examine ingoing and outgoing shipments
- Receive, unload and place incoming inventory items appropriately
- Check, verify and fill customer invoices
- Provide excellent customer service
- Assemble and disassemble merchandise efficiently using a variety of tools
- Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures
- Tend to maintenance needs on salesfloor, warehouse, and parking lot
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Higher Education
- Ability to operate a hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
- Adequate computer skills a plus; ability to learn and understand the company computer software to enter and track inventory data
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Team player; must work well with others to ensure smooth operation
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain merchandise and policies to customers
- Comply with OSHA guidelines and promote a safe working environment
- Good driving credentials; motor vehicle record must be in good standing
- Complete and maintain annual DOT certifications
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background check
- Provide and maintain valid driver’s license and auto insurance for company record keeping
- Work independently with little supervision
Physical Requirements:
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to lift or move heavy products; load and unload merchandise on and off of delivery trucks
- Work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment, for an extended period of time
- Ability to drive distances as needed
- Ability to extend daily work schedule as needed to meet customers’ needs
- Ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas, not limited to but including stairways, hallways, and elevators
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily
- Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back
- Requires ability to lift, lower, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 100 lbs. frequently and ability to handle/manipulate up to 250 lbs. frequently
- Ability to grip, bend, kneel, stoop, and move merchandise for long periods of time
